You're probably considering Slovenia because of the iconic Lake Bled. And of course I can't deny it's an amazing location. But that's only one of many stunning wedding venues in Slovenia. Today, I’ll share some of my favorite wedding locations, starting with a few well-known places and continuing to some hidden gems.
All of the wedding venues in Slovenia listed below are perfect for bigger groups, though that doesn't mean we can't make an elopement work either. Bled is most certainly the "kingpin" of wedding venues in Slovenia. And it’s not just that Bled has only one iconic location — it actually has seven standout locations! The big three are, of course, Villa Bled, Bled Castle, and Bled Island. Whether you're planning an elopement or a big wedding—Bled has the spot.
Villa Bled is perfect for elegant, intimate weddings with stunning lake views, while Bled Castle offers a fairytale setting with medieval charm and panoramic views across the whole lake and town. And then there’s, of course, Bled Island, where you can exchange vows in a centuries-old church surrounded by the shimmering waters of Lake Bled.
Compared to its famous neighbor, Bled, Lake Bohinj has a far more intimate, laid-back feel. Nestled in the heart of the Julian Alps, the lake is surrounded by mountains and lush forests, making it a stunning backdrop for a wedding ceremony. Many couples pick it for its quiet charm and beautiful crystal-clear waters.
Two of the most popular wedding venues here are Vila Muhr, a charming lakeside villa perfect for cozy, personal celebrations, and Hotel Bohinj, which combines comfort with beautiful views and easy access to the lake. Lake Bled is one of the most popular wedding venues in Slovenia, and it tends to book up quite early.
If you’re dreaming of a weekend wedding at Lake Bled, it’s best to start planning about a year to a year and a half in advance — that way, you’ll have plenty of available dates to choose from and can secure your dream location without stress.
However, if you’re open to celebrating your wedding during the week, there’s often more flexibility. In that case, you might still find available dates even just a few months ahead of time.

Yes, there are some noise and time restrictions at certain wedding venues in Slovenia. Some historic venues (like castles) and those located in towns with nearby residences often have curfews, usually around midnight or 1 a.m. On the other hand, private villas and countryside estates tend to be much more flexible.
However, there’s no need to worry — as your wedding planner, I always take care of submitting a noise notification to the local police in advance. This ensures that we have an official permit, so even if someone were to file a complaint, everything is covered, and there’s no need to panic.

Venue hire for a wedding in Slovenia typically ranges from €1,000 to €5,000, depending on the location, exclusivity, and services included. Some hotels include venue rental if you book catering and rooms.
Some venues have an in-house event manager, but their job usually covers logistics for the property itself. I handle the full coordination — vendors, styling, timing, and your personal touches.
Yes — absolutely! Most wedding venues in Slovenia (like Villa Bled, Zemono Manor, or Vila Vipolže) are designed to host both the ceremony and the reception in one place. It’s very common here to have your ceremony outdoors — by the lake, in a garden, or between the vineyards — followed by dinner and dancing indoors or under a beautifully decorated marquee.

That really depends on your preferences. Most of my wedding requests are in the months from May through September, when the weather is warm. However, some wedding venues in Slovenia are at their most magical during winter—I’ve had the pleasure of organizing some truly unforgettable winter weddings. Though if you want warmer weather, spring and early autumn are especially lovely—fewer tourists and amazing colors of the surrounding nature (which is basically 80 % of Slovenia)
